HEVC / H.265 Video Encoding

HEVC / H.265 is a video compression standard designed to provide better compression efficiency than AVC / H.264, especially for HD, 4K, and higher-resolution video. These encoder samples produce Annex B elementary streams, where HEVC NAL units are separated by start codes and VPS/SPS/PPS parameter sets are carried in the stream.

These samples show how to encode raw YUV video to an HEVC / H.265 Annex B elementary stream with Transcoder::run and Transcoder::pull.

• HEVC / H.265 Encoder (Run) - Encode raw YUV video to an HEVC / H.265 Annex B elementary stream with Transcoder::run.

• HEVC / H.265 Encoder (Pull) - Pull encoded HEVC / H.265 Annex B samples from the transcoder and write them to a file.
